King Sandybutt is a type of Mum-mum in Banjo-Kazooie. He appears in the maze pyramid of Gobi's Valley, he warns you to get out or suffer the consequences (if the player disobeys his orders, the player must run along a maze and find the way to the other side of it and receive a Jiggy). His tomb is in the room beyond the maze, but strangely enough he's not there. There is a Mum-mum walking around in the maze before you reach the tomb, whether is meant to be King Sandybutt is unknown. It has been suggested that King Sandybutt may have an alternate, Egyptian, less silly sounding name, but the King, knowing little English, mistranslated his own name into the comical final result.

King Sandybutt shares a speech icon with Mum-mums.

In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, King Sandybutt's Pyramid was torn out of Gobi's Valley and transferred to the Banjoland Museum. King Sandybutt is revealed to be alive, as when the Lord of Games brought the pyramid to the museum, King Sandybutt is mentioned to have been against the idea.
