The Jinjo Houses are a group of empty, colored houses that are each inhabited by Jinjos of the corresponding color. These places first appear in Banjo-Tooie.

History

Banjo-Tooie

In Banjo-Tooie, the Jinjo Houses can be found in Jinjo Village on the Isle o' Hags. There initially was a total of 10 houses, each containing a family of Jinjos that are the same color as their corresponding house. However, the opening cutscene depicts the HAG 1 driving into the gray Jinjo House on its way to Spiral Mountain. As a result, the gray house was destroyed and every gray Jinjo in the house was killed, leaving only 9 houses when Banjo and Kazooie first visit the area. The houses are abandoned at this time, as all 46 Jinjos have been scared off and scattered across various levels. A slow, mournful version of Jinjo Village theme will play upon entering these houses at the time. After finding and collecting a Jinjo, it will appear in it's house from then on. Collected all Jinjos in a family will reward the player with a Jiggy and a happy, upbeat version of the Jinjo Village theme upon entering their house.

There is a Treble Clef on the roof of the red Jinjo House. After speaking to King Jingaling, jumping off the arch of the yellow house with Talon Trot, then performing a Feathery Flap, and finally performing a Beak Buster at the right time can allow players to access the passage to Wooded Hollow before obtaining Grip Grab, completely skipping Bottles' house.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Jinjo Houses reappear in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, and are located in Showdown Town. They are the homes of 6 different Jinjos that are locked in cages around the town. After freeing them with Wrench Switch and replacing them in the cage with a Minjo, the Jinjos need to be escorted back to their homes.
