Glide is an ability that Kazooie can learn from the icy side of Hailfire Peaks in Banjo-Tooie, just outside the topmost level of Icicle Grotto. Pressing while in midair allows Kazooie to spread her wings and glide in the wind effortlessly.
To get glide, the player must warp to the Icicle Grotto warp pad and look up, then shoot down the icicles with grenade eggs. Then, they must run up the inclined slope to the left, separate on the Split up Pads and jump to the top of the Grotto, whose exit leads to Jamjars' silo. Alternatively, the Grotto can be completely bypassed by entering Inside the Volcano and completing the challenge. Afterwards, while only Kazooie, it is possible to jump to the ledge harboring a honeycomb and traveling through the tunnel into the topmost part of the Grotto, thus avoiding the icicles all together.
Gliding does not cost Red Feathers and will not descend as quickly as flying, but there is no way to gain altitude without landing and taking off from a higher perch. Even still, gliding is extremely useful when trying to reach far away targets when there are no Flight Pads around, especially when used with the Leg Spring jump, and is an excellent recovery move should the player fall from a high place.
