Bleater

Bleaters are a recurring species in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

“Baaa-ravo!! Here ewe go!”
Bleater, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge

BiographyEdit

The Bleaters are group of sheep who live on Cliff Farm. Bleaters talk in farm-based puns, much like Bovina does in Banjo-Tooie, and tend to incorporate the onomatopoeia "Baaa" into most of their sentences.

Grunty's RevengeEdit

In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, their first appearance, there are two groups of Bleaters in Cliff Farm. The first group is in the main area, on a cliff above the second group of hay bales. Four Bleaters are trapped in a fence enclosure while a Gruntweed terrorizes them. When Banjo defeats the Gruntweed, the Bleaters thank him and allow him to take their Jiggy. The other group is at Farm Heights, on a cliff to the right of Bluff Barn. When Banjo approaches these Bleaters, the game switches to the Sheep Dip minigame. There, a Bleater asks Banjo to help them reach their bathing spot, the "Sheep Dip," which they feel unsafe going to alone because of enemies around the area. Banjo must reel 12 Bleaters into tubs of water, after which he is rewarded another Jiggy.

Banjo-PilotEdit

In Banjo-Pilot, two Bleaters make a cameo in the Grand Prix awards ceremony along with several other characters from Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge.

Name originEdit

Their name is derived from "bleat," which is the sound made by a sheep or goat.
