The Banjo-Kazooie Sweepstakes was a Nintendo-sponsored sweepstakes that was held by Toonami for Banjo-Kazooie. It began on Monday, June 8, 1998 and ended on Friday, June 12, 1998. To enter the sweepstakes, viewers had to send a postcard to the mailing address provided by Toonami.
Overview
During commercial breaks on Cartoon Network from 4:00-6:00 pm (Toonami's time slot), a mailing address would occasionally appear on screen. Viewers were instructed to send postcards to this address for a chance to win. 525 postcards were then randomly selected as second and grand prize winners.
Prizes
- 500 second prize winners would receive a copy of Banjo-Kazooie
- 25 grand prize winners received a Nintendo 64 bundled with Banjo-Kazooie
Trivia
- This sweepstakes was held prior to the game's official release on June 29, 1998.
- This was the only Toonami sweepstakes to exclusively use mail-in entry.
- The promotional material did not mention Toonami at all. It only mentioned tuning into Cartoon Network every weekday from 4:00-6:00 pm.
