The Forward Roll is a move that allows Banjo and Kazooie to roll forward and attack enemies, being a basic but still useful ability.
History
Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Kazooie, Bottles teaches Banjo and Kazooie how to use the Forward Roll in Spiral Mountain, being performed by pressing while moving.
Banjo-Tooie
In Banjo-Tooie, the Forward Roll returns as a pre-learned move, being performed the same way as it did in the previous game. When Split-Up from Kazooie, Banjo cannot use the move as her wings are necessary for it to work.
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Bozzeye teaches Banjo and Kazooie how to use the Forward Roll in Cliff Farm for 60 Musical Notes. It is performed by pressing while moving.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Forward Roll appears as Banjo's dash attack, and as such is performed from a Talon Trot.
